Scoop.it allows you or groups to be the curator of any topic by collecting great resources for publication into your own site that can be shared with others.
Just register your name and choose a title, then install the bookmarklet and start saving articles of interest.
So~ why is Scoop.it an integral part of your PLN? The reason: you can "follow" others who are scooping gems that you are interested in too. Also, you
can grab the RSS feed for scoops/topics you are following and seamlessly pull that feed into your favorite feed aggregator, like Google Reader or Netvibes. You are becoming part of the "global brain" - and at the same time, you are becoming a 'curator' to the curators!
SCOOP.IT CHALLENGE:
1. Set up an account on Scoop It
2. Add the Scoop.It bookmarklet to you computer's toolbar - see scoop.it toolbar instructions here
3. ONCE YOU LOGIN TO SCOOP.IT, do a search on "School Libraries or School Library" and/or any of the scoops in the list below and take a loo. Choose a couple of gems to "rescoop" - you will be asked to create a topic first. You can name your topic whatever you think is appropriate (ex. school library tools, school library 2.0, web 2.0, Reading, etc.)
